Our Cultural Heritage Keepers
“Know from whence you came. If you know whence you came, there are absolutely no limitations to where you can go.” – James Baldwin
Our Cultural Heritage Keepers program is an education program that teaches African American youth ages 11-19 the success sequence of life. This begins by taking the youth through a 12-session educational journey that teaches them about the culture and heritage of African Americans prior to their journey to America. It promotes an exploration of identify by teaching about strong relationship bonds, the benefits of remaining sexually abstinence prior to marriage and the proven sequences that can put them on a journey of creating strong, successful African America families. Our Cultural Heritage Keepers teaches youth how to break the cycles that have plagued our ancestors and helps them to establish a sense of pride rooted in their culture and heritage.
